Week in Review 2013 {#11}

Week in Review

Monday

My love/hate relationship with the Biggest Loser continued with great intensity on Monday.  Do you watch the show?  Did you want to punch Gina’s scrunched up cry-baby face as much as I did?

Tuesday

You guys.  We found a tooth.  In Wyatt’s mouth.  Up until now I’ve taken his rapid growth in stride.  But a tooth?  That’s big boy stuff.  I’m not ready.

Wednesday

It was a fine Wednesday.  I made my own lip scrub.  I actually made dinner instead of putting a box of Poptarts on the counter and telling Ryan to enjoy.  I kept the baby alive one more day.  Then, it happened.  I got the news about Google Reader’s imminent death.

I’m now on the hunt for an alternative.  Bloglovin’ and the like are good, but what about blogs that don’t use those platforms?  That’s why I liked Reader.  I could just have everything I read in one place.  Why do you have to rock my world like this, Google?  Why?

Thursday

I made a big decision about my blog and got the ball rolling to move over to self-hosted WordPress.  I hired someone to do it so hopefully it’ll be a smooth transition.  But if you see anything wonky going on with the blog in the coming days and weeks, just know I’m trying to work all the kinks out.  Be gentle.

Friday

Wyatt turned 4 months old!  I’ve seen so much of his little personality emerge in the past month.  I love this kid.

Saturday

Wyatt got his first taste of bananas.

Some of it did make it into his mouth.  Promise.

Sunday

I broke my rule about not watching movies until I’ve read the book and watched The Hunger Games.  I was surprised by how much I liked it.  Now I gotta get busy and read all the books!

How was your week?

I was with you up until the point that you said you read the book first. Why? WHY? You never do that. The book is always better. Always.

    Sigh.

(actually THG movie was pretty good, but the books are honestly amazing)

I’m trying out Feedly to replace Reader. It was really easy to switch everything over – just signed in with Google and it was all there, even my starred posts. So far, I like it pretty well although it does take some getting used to the different look.

You must read The Huger Games trilogy. They were so good, I read them super fast. The movie is very good for a book adaptation. Although since I had read the book, I did find myself correcting the movie and asking it where the missing stuff was.

I’ve not read Hunger Games, but did watch the movie with my girls. My daughter now wants archery lessons. Baby feet – so freakin’ cute. I don’t know what to make of this Google shenanigans but I need to figure it out asap. I’ve heard someone else give Feedly a thumbs up. Let me know how the whole moving to WP goes…I’ve been contemplating it myself. Of course, I’m to cheap to hire someone, so…it’ll probably not happen.

So far bloglovin seems good. Also, congrats on the little guy’s first tooth! 🙂

I too have no idea what to do about this reader issue! I’m thinking Feedly?? I’ve also been debating the switch to WordPress…let us know how it goes!

Aw, your son is adorable! Their growing up is so bittersweet. I remember that I felt just like you do when my kids started getting teeth, and now I’m feeling the same way as my six-year-old is starting to lose his baby teeth. 🙁 Time goes too fast!

Welcome!

Hey, I'm Trish (and that handsome dude next to me pretending he doesn't want his picture taken is Wyatt). Welcome to my blog!
