Week in Review 2013 {#12}

March 25, 2013      5 Comments

Before I get started with my week in review I want to remind everyone that the blog transfer to WordPress will be happening this week (possibly tomorrow).  I’m not anticipating any major issues, but just in case there are and you’d like to keep up with what’s going on, here are a few ways you can:

I’m also probably going to lose my cute blog design when I transfer over, so I’ll try to spruce things up as much as I can until I can get a custom design.  If you do blog design for WordPress or know someone who does, let me know!

Week in review

Monday

We discovered just how ridiculous the babysitting market is in this city.  I love my baby and I want someone loving and responsible to care for him while I’m out, but I’m not paying you $10 an hour to sit around and stare at my kid crap his pants.  Or fall asleep in his Arena of Sensory Overload.

Tuesday

I feel like I got pretty lucky with Wyatt.  He doesn’t really cry for no reason.  He doesn’t get sick (knock on wood).  And while he doesn’t take super long naps, he sleeps long enough during the day for me to eat or exercise or clean or do work stuff.  Well, on Tuesday he decided he’d had enough of that crap.  He was a terror all day long.  I was this close to finding a corner to weep quietly in.  But then I thought, if he can cry in my face, I can cry in his.  Take that, baby.

Wednesday

I was going to go for a walk to enjoy the first day of spring, but it was roughly negative 15 degrees outside so I decided to stay inside and make a Mother Nature voodoo doll instead.  And when I was done with that I made crumble coated sugar cookies.  Then I ate a couple (dozen) of them.

Thursday

I decided that if Spring wasn’t going to show up, I’d just pretend.  So I put a dress on (I’ve just stopped pretending like I’m actually going to leave the house) and painted my nails.

Farah Zoya polish

I’m totally in love with Zoya polish now.  I also have to thank the baby for not throwing a fit or pooping himself while they dried.

Friday

I left the house.  Granted, it was just to get pizza and go to the grocery store.  But I got out of the house.  I’m sure everyone thought I was insane when I practically skipped into Sam’s Club.

Saturday

For my birthday my mom gave me a chocolate melting crock and some candy melts, and ever since October they’ve just been sitting around.  That made me kind of sad.  And then I remembered Ryan had given me a cake pop maker I don’t even remember how long ago that I never even took out of the box.  Double sad.  So I did something about it.

No, my pants don’t fit very well this week.  Thanks for asking.

Sunday

Sunday was actually kind of eventful considering what the rest of the week was like.  Ryan made me a waffle for breakfast.  We watched a movie.  I ventured out alone to procure some Easter items.  I got a little overwhelmed by the number of Easter item choices, grabbed a 6 pack of Reese’s eggs and hauled ass out of there.  I bled profusely from my tongue for an hour or two.  We let Wyatt watch the Walking Dead with us.  He thought that sad, drunken, racist Merle kind of got what he deserved.

How was your week?

Unfortunately, the whole $10 an hour thing is universal. Remember when we babysat like eight kids and made a grand total of $10…? Or was that just me and the cheap bastards I sat for (Oooh, I have a really great blog post about that!)? This is why you have more than one kid. Because, by the time the oldest is 13, he’s responsible(ish) enough to keep up with his six year old and five year old twin brothers. For free.

    (please don’t call CPS)

And yes, Easter shopping is completely overwhelming. Wait until he’s in school and you have to buy for an entire class too!

Why the switch to WP? Just curious! And I’ve actually purchased a blog template from http://www.designerblogs.com/ before and just noticed today (under “Shops”) they have WP Premades and some $25 templates too. Check em out, they’re super cute!

Also, cake pops are probably my favorite thing in the world right now and SO fun to make! You can always buy bigger pants.

Holy crap! You’re hilarious! I was just out prowling around the blogosphere, and I landed on yours by accident, but I’m glad I did. Since I’m still an amateur blogger, I’m going to add you to my sidebar in hopes that you don’t go “poof” after you switch to WP. If that’s the case, I’ll hunt you back down for more laughs. 😀

Goodness, babysitting really is pricey. I used to nanny and got paid quite a lot (which I liked)! I sometimes felt guilty taking it, though.

Welcome!

Welcome!

Hey, I'm Trish (and that handsome dude next to me pretending he doesn't want his picture taken is Wyatt). Welcome to my blog!
