Our trip to the Minnesota Zoo

April 3, 2014      7 Comments

We had some crazy beautiful weather here on Saturday. A high of 40. FORTY. It felt like a heatwave around here. So we took advantage of it and headed to the Minnesota Zoo.

Minnesota Zoo

Wyatt had a really good time climbing on things and staring at the other kids.  The animals?  Just okay.  I think maybe he needs to get out more.

On second thought, when we let him out he just runs away from us.

When we caught him, we forced him to look at the animals and like it.

At one point I forgot I was there with other people and took 97 pictures of a tree full of berries.

Eventually I tore myself away and caught up with everyone again. I don’t want to know what they were up to.

I think it was this point I realized I hadn’t even been taking pictures of the animals. I don’t really believe rusty fences are more interesting than tigers. I swear.

I tried to make up for the lack of animals. Look! A tortoise eating lunch.

And an angry red panda!

And a coyote that a guy kept loudly exclaiming were “ky-oats.”  Clearly the coyote was unimpressed.

And we totally got a picture of all three of us. We won that day.

Now I must go mourn the fact that we’re supposed to get 8-12 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow. Winter isn’t ever going to end, is it?

I just got an email from the kids’ school that they are sending their ipads home today in the event they have to CLOSE school tomorrow. I swear…this winter/spring (whatever the hell it is) is going to be the death of me.

Beautiful pic of the berries 😉

Love, love, love the pics! Glad you had such a great time.

I’m looking into visiting an alpaca farm about 2 hours from us in Kingman, Arizona. I need some blog material that is fun and doesn’t suck for a change. LOL

That cracks me up about the rusty fences being more interesting than tigers.. as a mother of two toddlers, I understand that all too well!

Looks like a great zoo though! And great photography skills.. I hope someday my photos look as nice! I have a DSLR but I haven’t really “figured it all out” yet… even though I’ve had it two years.. yikes, lol.

Oh my gosh, I love you! Haha, I was so like that when we took Clay for his first birthday but he was like, “look, there’s a strap on my stroller.” Here’s hoping his second birthday trip works out better…

I love going to the zoo! My kids get so excited, but of course, so do I! I could stay and watch the animals all day!! Such fun!
