April, I’m not sad to see you go. I was sick most of the month. That whole cold – flu – cold – sinus infection train that rolled over me kind of did me in.
But there were some good times:
I made it a whole 7 days into the April photo-a-day challenge before I got sick and gave up. Normally that would irk me, but I you can’t be mad when you’re looking at gnomes.
It was finally warm enough to go out and enjoy our backyard. Even if it was a little soggy. And turned Wyatt into a zombie.
My mom came to visit (and help me get back to Indiana for a visit in once piece). We always like it when she’s here.
Back in Indiana we had a little get-together with some friends. We did not run out of food.
There was some serious plunger play going on. You’ll be happy to know, the plunger has now been exiled to the garage where toddlers are unable to lick it.
We had a fun and relaxing Easter. And my kid allowed something to stay on his head for longer than two seconds. This is always worth mentioning.
I made, I don’t know, like 200 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Which is only slightly less than the number of pots of macaroni and cheese I made. The kid knows what he likes. And it’s not broccoli.
Wyatt played a constant game of “Where’s Mommy’s phone, and how can I get my hands on it?” I was trying to get some pictures and left my phone on the couch by mistake (right next to an Easter candy wrapper, which I assure you was necessary) and he knew. I don’t know how. But he came racing in from the other room. These are not my best pictures, and I don’t care.
He spots his prey
And goes in for the kill
We went outside in the rain. Because, new slides have to be played on. And, raincoats.
And just because it’s my most favorite picture of the whole month.
I hope you all had a great April. Here’s to an even better (and hopefully sick-free) May!

Aww! That last picture is adorable! I might have you beat on the pb&j’s…except 75% of mine might havve been for me…because Clay actually prefers broccoli most days. Weirdo.

You had a nice, busy month on top of being sick. I hope May brings better health as well as better weather!
