Homeschool Kindergarten Day 19: Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies

It was a nasty, rainy day here so we decided to head over for some indoor fun at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies. This was apparently what 75% of the rest of the area also had in mind, so it was busy. But we made the best of it and had a fun time checking out all the aquatic life.

We saw eels.

And jellyfish.

We learned about schooling fish.

And got as close as we could.

My favorite part was the glass tunnel.

Because. Sharks.

We even got to learn about shipwrecks and uncover “treasure” from the sea floor.

Then all of a sudden there was a section about good old Abraham Lincoln. I think there was probably a tie-in with aquarium-related things but we didn’t linger long in that section. Just long enough for this gem.

And somehow Wyatt convinced Poppo to crawl into the clown fish tank.

Now, I know I already said the glass tunnel was my favorite part, but it’s going to have to share first with the penguins.

We got there just in time for a penguin feeding.

We learned that penguins eat a crazy amount of food. So much so that when the penguin exhibit opened the aquarium’s food budget tripled. To make sure each penguin is getting enough food, one person feeds and calls out the penguin’s name, and the other person records it.

I wouldn’t mind that job.

And that was our day at the aquarium. We had a great time and I think we’ll end up back there again someday.

P.S. I’d love for you to checkout my homeschool kindergarten board on Pinterest, as well as our Amazon Homeschool Favorites where I have curated a list of things we genuinely use and love in our homeschool life.

Besides this factors and risks which are involved by not slimming down there was also the advantage
of looking better which builds self-confidence. this also is because the body just does not respond well to unnatural dieting.
At the end of the morning (week, month, year, or decade),
the body doesn’t value your lack of planning.
