Everyday Trish - Musings of a single, homeschool mom

Hey. Hi. Welcome to my blog!

A little bit about me:

I’m a single, homeschooling mom to my 5-year-old super hero, Wyatt. We’re in our very first year of “official” homeschooling and so far no one has run to enroll at the local elementary school, so I’d say we’re doing alright. Homeschooling has been my dream for years, but when I suddenly found myself single I didn’t know how I was going to still make it a reality. But through a lot of faith and a lot of support, we made it! I work from home here in Northern Indiana, which helps tremendously. Plus, we live with my parents which is the biggest help of all. It’s not exactly a conventional life, but we like it.

A little bit about Wyatt:

Wyatt is curious, hilarious, independent, and smart. He loves to play all day, make messes, and do everything in his power to not clean any of it up. He can go from squeaky clean to filthy dirty in about two minutes flat. His favorite things to do are read books, watch movies, play with Legos, and go outside to get dirty. His own farts crack him up, but not as much as other people’s burps. Most of all though, he’s loving, sensitive, and kind. I wouldn’t change a thing.

A little bit about the blog:

I started this blog way back in 2011 but never really had much of a direction until we started homeschooling this year. It felt important to record this journey, so after a long hiatus, I finally dusted the old blog off and started fresh as a homeschool blogger. This new direction feels like where the blog was always headed, and I love talking about our life and on topics that are of interest to other homeschool moms.

If you’re into homeschooling and/or moms who aren’t afraid to talk about how they absolutely do not have it all together, I think you’ll fit right in here. And as always, I’m truly thankful you have chosen to spend some of your valuable time here at my little slice of the internet. Beyond all the “business” of blogging, my ultimate goal is to connect with others by sharing the ups and downs of our crazy, homeschool life.

If you still have a little time on your hands, check out some of our most recent homeschool blog posts.

Or if you’re a little burnt out on school stuff right now, here are a few of my most popular posts that aren’t strictly homeschool related:

  • Peanut Butter Cup and Oreo Dirt Cake
  • Painted Mason Jar Makeup Brush Holder
  • How to Stay Motivated When You’re a Work At Home Mom
  • Parmesan Pull Apart Garlic Bread
  • 10 Books That Will Haunt You Long After You’re Done Reading Them
  • Cheesy Baked Pasta Recipe
  • 5 Reasons to Let Your Kids Playing With Dirty Plungers

Oh, and before you go, I’d love to have you follow my homeschool kindergarten board on Pinterest, and if you have time check out my list of homeschool favorites on Amazon, where I have curated items that we actually use and love in our homeschool lives.

Welcome!

Welcome!

Hey, I'm Trish (and that handsome dude next to me pretending he doesn't want his picture taken is Wyatt). Welcome to my blog! I'm a single, homeschool mom living the introvert life in Southern Michigan. If you're into Chinese food, Netflix, stretchy pants, and leaving the house the least amount possible, we can probably be friends.
