Homeschool Kindergarten Day 13: Farm Life

Once a month or so Wyatt gets to take a special visit to our friends’ little farm. It’s such a fun experience for him. He even has his own chicken there named Boo-Boo.

Wyatt has declared himself their leader. The chickens don’t seem to mind.

He gets to do all the cool stuff there, like collect eggs.

“Harvest” crops.

And run the baler.

Just kidding. They don’t get to run the baler until they’re six.

Later in the day, after recuperating from all that farm excitement, we sat down to read “Eating the Alphabet” by Lois Ehlert (another book on loan from Jenn). He had a lot of fun identifying all the fruits and vegetables (you know, all the ones he won’t eat) and even recognized a few from his trip to the farm.

The rest of the day was pretty relaxed with lots of play and a round of Jumanji thrown in for extra fun. Not too bad for a day in the life of a kindergartner, right?

What are your favorite homeschool field trip spots? I’m always looking for new ideas!

P.S. I’d love for you to checkout my homeschool kindergarten board on Pinterest, as well as my Amazon favorites where I have curated lists of things we genuinely use and love.
